Your brows deserve a (microblading) stylist.
We spend a lot of time making sure our hair looks good, but honestly – good hair days should include all the hair on head. Including our brows. And now, you can have all good brow days you’ve ever wanted, thanks to our microblading artist Angie.

You might have heard that microblading is THE solution to your longstanding, ever-complicated relationship with your brows. You know the story: they’re too light, they’re too dark, they’re too thick, they’re not the same… it goes on. Don’t even get us started on the 90s eyebrow debacle that has had longterm implications on some of our eyebrow growth patterns (Need a reminder? We’re big fans of scrolling through @historyofoverplucking to quietly remind ourselves that this is one 90s trend that should never come back.)
But we think there’s one universal statement we can make about everyone’s brows: Sculpting and staying on top of them is time consuming (and usually painful and frustrating). Which is why we’re so excited to have added Angie and her brow-expertise to our Port Moody studio roster.
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that uses sterile disposable needles to implant pigment into the area between the epidermis (the top layer of skin) and the dermis (the lower layer of skin). Need help visualizing this? It’s area in your skin slightly above where your eyebrow follicles start. Your brow artist will use these needles to create pigmented strokes that mimic brow hairs to enhance the natural shape of your brow.

Why is it “semi” permanent?
Our cells in our epidermis and dermis are active and naturally go through cycles of division and shedding. As this cycle repeats, the pigment gradually gets broken down over time and is eventually “shed” along with dry and dead cells. Typically microblading lasts about 3 to 5 years with touch-up appointments recommended every 6 to 24 months (keeping in mind that everyone’s skin and lifestyles are different!).
What to expect during the appointment
Your appointment includes a consultation with Angie, where you’ll go over everything from your brow concerns, shapes, colours, and most importantly, after care. Prior to beginning the process, a topical anesthetic cream is used for numbing before and during your procedure to ensure you’re comfortable during the appointment.
You may feel light scratches on the treatment area during the process, however, everyone’s pain threshold level varies. For the most part it is meant to be a relaxing procedure, but we always encourage you to let us know if you’re experiencing any discomfort!

Why would you want to microblade your brows?
There’s a common misconception that microblading is only for people with thin or sparse brows, and that couldn’t be more wrong! Microblading is a great way to balance out your brows, provide shape or structure to a wayward one, or to add depth and colour to light brows. Want to learn more about the different styles? What to expect post-procedure
It’s important to expect that your brows will go through phases. Immediately post-procedure, your brows might seem darker and more defined than you had anticipated, but as the pigment settles into the skin, the strokes and pigment will soften. Once the skin begins to heal, you may experience dryness and flaking around the brows, but this perfectly normal and part of the healing process. After your brows have fully healed, we recommend using an SPF moisturizer to maintain the pigment as sun exposure can cause rapid fading.
