What you need to know about the Spring Shed

Springtime is a season of change, growth and beauty. It’s also the time of year that brings us the infamous “Spring Shed” as we lash artists like to call it.

Spring. Yes, it’s that time of year again! With the seasons changing and warmer weather coming on, so does the dreaded lash shedding season. Don’t sweat it, it’s all natural baby! Our bodies naturally shed its “winter fur”. We wouldn’t normally notice this, but when wearing lash extensions both you and your clients absolutely will. Our lashes are always shedding, they only pick up speed and we lose lashes quicker than usual as a reaction to the environmental changes twice a year.

What can we do? Well, we can’t fight nature. But we CAN educate our clients so that they understand that they may need to come in more often for their fills during this time. You may notice your clients’ naturals could be a bit more sparse as we get through the spring shed, but don’t fret – this usually only lasts 4-6 weeks and things will go back to normal. So hang tight, we’re all in this together.
