We have all been through a lot this year, and our hands are no exception. Between increased washing and a constant slathering of alcohol-based sanitizer, everybody is feeling the dry hands blues. There are several treatments available at Muse + Maven to help get your hands back on track and feeling their best. Keep reading to find out which one is best for you!
Regular Manicures
One of the most frustrating side effects of frequent hand washing is the dreaded hangnail. How can one tiny piece of skin hurt so bad when you finally give in and try to peel it away. Well, because you really shouldn’t peel them! The best way to prevent hangnails and deal with any you currently have is to get a professional manicure. We will remove any dead skin that might be hatching a plot to become a hangnail and clean up messy cuticles. We restore moisture to the cuticle with a hydrating oil and we suggest you continue to frequently reapply at home between visits.

Paraffin
Paraffin wax might be the best thing in the whole world. It’s like a warm hug for your hands. We are constantly using our hands and with technology usage on the rise, sore hands are becoming a more common complaint. Paraffin soothes aching hands while trapping moisture in the skin. The oils in the wax help to soften callouses and can even be helpful with skin issues such as eczema. Soothing heat helps to relax tired muscles and stimulate blood flow. People who suffer from arthritis often find relief from paraffin treatments. This is a lovely way to add on some hand care to any service. You can chill and get your lashes done while the paraffin works its magic!
Hand Massages
There are so many benefits of massages, particularly for the hands. They help to reduce stress and anxiety by relieving tension and encouraging relaxation. We use a blend of massage oil, aromatherapy oil, and hydrating lotion to moisturize your hand and forearm. Massage also helps to stimulate blood flow which increases the delivery of nutrients to your extremities. This will lead to firm, happy skin! It also helps in increase the range of motion and can be especially nice for those that experience carpal tunnel symptoms.
Cuticle Oil
Another component that can help with dry hands (and therefore dry cuticles) is applying cuticle oil regularly! Cuticle oil is designed to be fast-absorbing and helps to soften and condition your cuticles to prevent dryness and cracking. At our studio, we sell beautiful cuticle oil with dried natural flowers, so the bottle is as pretty as it is useful! If you’d like to find out more about the cuticle oil we carry, you can visit the brand’s website or of course visit us in person!
We are so excited to be extending our services to include nail care. We can’t wait to pamper your hands and restore them to their pre-covid glory!
